Found the pizza and salads both amazing. Very fresh crust and great size for the price. Wine was great. Convenient. Definitely would return if in the area

Great location and right next to our hotel...and the taxi driver said it was "great."

Oily, smoky pizza (yuck) and bland, granular, tasteless pasta Arabiatta.

    Definitely do not recommend!

We had just arrived in Paris earlier in the day.  All we were looking for was a decent meal since we were super jet lagged and didn't feel like traveling far to grab dinner.  After a walk from our hotel to the Eiffel Tower, we stopped here to eat since it was the first restaurant that we passed by on our way back.

The restaurant is in an ideal location to lure tourists because it's right at the corner.  We assumed it was good because they were pretty packed.  I usually Yelp a restaurant before trying it but being exhausted and hungry from a 10 hour flight, we went in with no idea of the ratings.

We were seated as soon as we walked in.  The service wasn't too bad plus the servers speak English.  After browsing the menu and observing what others ordered we decided on two pasta dishes.

We ordered the spaghetti carbonara and chicken penne.  It was the worst pasta we've ever had.  The spaghetti was so bland and watery.  The sauce is supposed to be creamy.  The penne was even worse.  The chicken was dry and the sauce was non existent.  I also had a French onion soup which also failed.  The broth was tasteless.

I would walk pass here and keep on walking.  Although you'll see many tourists come here to eat.  It's mainly for the convenience of the location.  Food was bad and prices are steep.

    Pissed on in Paris!

We stayed to watch the Eiffel Tower illuminate on our final Parisian evening (Thurs 8 June) and took a leisurely stroll along the waterfront. Visited what seemed to be a well lit curb-side Parisian bistro café and found it to be otherwise.

Declining the only remaining outdoor seats which were literally on the sidewalk, we ventured inside and were told to sit anywhere we like. Found a pair of chairs facing the sidewalk, river and roadway and settled in for our final romantic evening in France.

Then the waiter tells us to move?  I declined and attempted to order drinks. He yells out to the manager that "these 2 won't move?"  WTH?

The manager and his staff then lost all English linguistic ability and through shouted Italian & French attempted to shame us into complying. Their issue was our being seated at a table for 4 (two 2-seat tables jammed together)?.

Instantly pissed off at this high-handed and unwarranted treatment, I jumped up to leave only to be restrained by my lovely wife who acceded to their demands.

Worthy of mention....That table sat empty and idle for the duration of our visit.

Once re-seated we were seemingly forgotten by the wait staff for nearly 20 minutes.  Willing to take no more of it, I picked up the menu, walked over to the prima donna prick of a manager (He'd obviously watched too many Mafia films) & trying my best to be polite;I I ordered Grilled chicken with a glass of white wine for her and a house beer with Calzone for myself.

Mind you I placed our order directly to him using English, pointing out the menu entries on his menu to him and having him repeat it back to me. I thanked him and returned to our side table and engaged in quiet talk while awaiting our food, my beer and her wine orders.

That draught house beer I was served was unequivocally, 'the worst beer I've ever had'. It was apparently some local, spicy, wannbe craft beer that might as well have been brewed by a 5 year-old. Her wine was perfect.

Their Chef appears to be the lone shining star here. My calzone wasn't too bad at all & her Chicken smelled good and presented well. She'd asked for the grilled chicken but was served "fried chicken which is Ok if that's what your into but....

Lovely soul that she is, she ate most of it, only mentioning that they had served her wrong as we were paying the bill. Then, weirdly, we were left alone...again?  Mind you we're trying to simply pay our bill and leave quietly but no one came near us while I viewed dark looks from the far-side of the restaurant.

Growing tired of this disrespect, I grabbed the bill and approached the barman to pay our bill. We stayed maybe 10 mins more after paying while my wife worked on-line with a suddenly urgent business matter.

Leaving, we walked back out into the passing throng and I chanced a backward glance trying to fix this location firmly in my mind as a future no-go and what do I see?  The manager and most of his waiters gathered in a group with him gesturing in our direction. WTH just happened?

Knowing what I know now, I'd never give them another nickel. Doubtless they were pissed at being denied any gratuity but COME ON!  Seriously?  A Gratuity?...for being repeatedly abused?

I have never before drafted such a negative review of a restaurant...anywhere.  Of the 30+ places we visited while in Paris, we had a negative experience in only one....Iolanda.

We're the same as any traveler. We all want positive, uplifting experiences and we pay for that luxury when we do. If you value a good traveling experience and bother reading these words; keep walking on past Iolanda, Paris. Cross the street to any other bistro/cafe. Avoid Iolanda at all costs.

    Hell, you'd have a better experience at a McDonald's.

These people squander what is in fact a superb Parisian river-side location a few blocks from the Eiffel tower next to a large Metro station with a literal river of tourists passing by and most unfortunately, through their front doors.  The small-minded manager and his bully boys take credit where none is due.

Let me be clear..while in Paris visit any other bistro/cafe. Avoid Iolanda at all costs.

It's a few years now and I still can't believe we had such bad service.

Food is ok and price for food is ok.
but drinks are extremely overpriced. Usually nobody check the price for a bottle of water or a juice so they take advantage and charge way more than it should.
Orange juice 13 euros. Tea $10 euros, etc
